We walked a mile and a half over the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, then back to the car and around town a bit. Our feet hurt so badly! Martin Luther King Jr. and the original marchers walked over the bridge and then 54 miles all the way to Montgomery. They had old people and children like you with them as well. Can you imagine how badly their feet hurt?
When the marchers got to Montgomery, no one had cars with them. Do you know how they got back home?
