The youth group made blankets for Project Home and gave parents a break three nights in September. The timing was just right as they were present on days there were many child guests. They prepared snacks, played games, made cards, and enjoyed music.
Shelter staff have said the blankets are really needed. One of our youth said, “I can see why. If I were in a situation like that, I would feel just a little better seeing colorful blankets and knowing someone cared enough to make them.”
The shelter moves to another church in October. We will stay connected through the 7th-8th graders’ Got You Covered collection of children’s underclothes this winter.
