“It’s your voices that need to be heard.”
Human rights leaders from Yemen, Trinidad and Tobago, the Maldives, and South Africa sent this message at a conference of young people from 165 youthrive sites – plus other teens by teleconference in Liberia – this week. Youth learned about children’s rights, made art, did service work, watched traditional Aztec dancers, and connected across many differences at Being the Change: The Rights of the Child by Youthrive and NYLC.
Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows presented on the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). The fastest-ever passed U.N. agreement has been signed by every country in the world, save for the U.S. WBUUC’s PeaceJammers sent youth to the conference and invite participation from grades 6-12 and parents. Come March 16th at 6:30 as we continue the conversation.
