This month, Prek- 6th grade students, along with adults in the congregation explored our theme, PEACE: The Practice of Spreading light. Children began by reading Todd Parr’s The Peace Book in their classes and created their own pages where they answered the question, “What is Peace to you?”
Children extended this theme by exploring ways that they find inner peace and brainstormed how they can help work for peace in the world. From exercises in breath, to exploring our Unitarian Universalist call to work for peace, and from exploring messages of peace in music to celebrating ancestors who have worked to make our world a better place, our children and youth worked together to spread the light this month.
