Parent Involvement

Parents of youth choir students are invited to gather between services to connect, craft and plan youth choir activities. | Alcove

Dear WBUUC Youth,
I am so enthused about our plans for The Youth Choir. All students, grades K – 12th ,
are welcome. We began this year with a well-attended meeting of the Youth Choir
Leadership team. They chose songs from a compiled list, suggested new ones,
vetoed others, and discussed arrangements. The Youth Choir Leadership Team is
open to students in grades 6th – 12th. We will meet briefly once a month, either before
or after choir practice, to plan musical arrangements, determine sectional leaders,
discuss progress and choose new songs. With stronger youth leadership, our choir
will help empower the voice of our young.

Please join us for our first practice on October 15th , between services, from 10:10 to
10:55. Parents of Kindergarten students are requested to attend choir practice, at
least the first few, to assist their child in learning the music, assure their comfort
level and ability to be expressive in a multi aged setting. In addition to singing, we
will be playing drums. Musical parts increase in complexity by age groupings.
Younger students will focus on keeping tempo. Students in grades 4 th and up may
choose to bring a band or orchestral instrument to accompany the choir. Hope to see
many of you, just come and check it out the first couple of weeks, join if you like it.

Hope to see many of you soon.
